To activate your Fintwist Prepaid Mastercard, you’ll need an activation code, which may be your date of birth, employee number, or a code created by your company. Ask your company for an activation code if you don’t have one yet, or don’t know what it is.
  1. Call 888.265.8228.
  2. Press “1” for English or “2” for Spanish.
  3. The system will ask you to enter your 16-digit card number from the front of your card. When finished press the “#” key.
  4. Enter the activation code: Your activation code is your date of birth.
  5. The system will ask you to enter a 4-digit PIN number of your choice (example: 4605) You will need this PIN when using your card to make a debit purchase and for ATM transactions. Only you should know your PIN. Do not share the PIN number with anyone else and do not write the PIN number on your card.
  6. The system will ask you to enter the expiration date, which is on the front of your card (example: 09/20).
  7. The system will ask you for the 3-digit security code on the back of your card, to the right of the signature line.
  8. The system will now tell you that your card is activated.

Always know your card balance. Sign up for text message alerts! Receive a text every time funds are loaded or subtracted from your card.

Please note that if our system is saying your birthday is wrong, it’s most likely because your employer entered it wrong. You will need to contact your employer and get it corrected! We cannot correct it on our side.

There are different ways you can check your balance but what is most important to point out is how you should NOT check your balance at an ATM, even an in-network ATM, as this will incur a fee. 

To check your balance and not incur a fee you can: 

  1. Download the Fintwist mobile app from the Apple or Google Play store. You can check your balance at any time by looking at the mobile app. 
  2. Call the number on the back of your card, follow the prompts, and hear your available balance.
  3. Sign up for text alerts. After every purchase, your available balance and transaction will be texted to you. 

You should immediately call cardholder support at 1-888-265-8228 and file a dispute with our support line. 

Once a fraud dispute has been filed you will be notified in 10 business days. 

The communication notice will contain an approval or a denial notice. 

If you receive an “approval” notice your account will be credited accordingly. 

If you receive a “denial” notice and the reason is due to insufficient evidence, you may request a reinvestigation of your case but you will be required to provide supporting documentation that will assist in the reevaluation. You will attach your documents to the original email which was received from the Fraud/Disputes team and reply with your request. 

You will only need to send a reinvestigation request once, please do not send multiple requests for the same fraud dispute as you may experience an additional delay.

Not on your mobile phone? No problem. Navigate to the Apple or Google Play store on your phone and search for “Fintwist.” You will see an app with the Fintwist F as the icon. Click this option and download! 

Receive text messages when money is added to your card and after each time you approve a transaction. You will get transaction details including balance with each text message! To enroll you can call 1.888.265.8228 to enroll. 

TO ENROLL THROUGH OUR WEBSITE, FOLLOW THESE STEPS: 

  1. Login to Cardholder Web
    • (New users must register first)
  2. Select Banking and then Text Messaging
    • Enter your phone number 
    • Select both notification boxes 
    • Read and accept the Terms and Conditions 
  3. Submit Your Request 

Our most common fees are using an out-of-network ATM, checking your balance, and purchasing fees. 

  • Out-of-Network ATMs 
    • When you use an out-of-network ATM to get cash you will incur a fee. Make sure you are using an in-network ATM. On the Fintwist mobile app, you can navigate to Menu > ATM Locator and it will show you all the in-network ATMs closest to you.  
  • Checking Your Balance 
    • When checking your balance it’s important to NOT use an ATM regardless if it’s in-network or not as doing so will incur a fee. Use the Fintwist mobile app to check your balance instead as it’s an easy way to always know how much is in your account and since it’s on your phone you can access it at any time. You can also sign up for our text alerts so that you’re notified after every purchase of what your balance is. Lastly, you can call the number on the back of your card and receive your balance that way. 
  • Purchasing Fees 
    • When making purchases it’s important to click “Credit” vs “Debit” on the card terminal and sign for your purchase vs using your pin so that you can avoid purchasing fees. If you are in need of cash back then you will need to choose the Debit option, but this is a low-cost way to get cash. 

There are many ways to avoid fees, if you’re curious on what all fees are associated with your Fintwist card, you can reference your fee schedule that came with your card or your employer should have a copy.

If your card was stolen or lost you can use the Fintwist mobile app to suspend your card and then report it as lost or stolen. On the home screen of your app you will see “Manage Cards” click this and then toggle on the button next to “Suspend Card” this will make it to where your card is not usable. Then you will want to click on “Report Lost/Stolen” so that you can get a replacement card.
